One of my other Summer hobbies outside of triathlon is gardening. I’ve grown tomatoes and herbs & veggies for the 4 summers I’ve been in Chicago so far. We don’t always get a ton of produce, or even make our investment back in saved groceries, but I enjoy watching the plants transform and produce.
Here are some photos of our plants do far. We’ve already picked 4-5 cherry tomatoes!
The flowers are mini eggplants. We also have arugula “gone wild” (flowering through the balcony), two types of cherry tomatoes. The herbs are all basil varieties: ‘normal’, lemon and Thai basil.
I am so happy your stuff is growing! The past two years we have tried a community plot and I am so happy we didn’t this year with the lack of rain and high temps!
