Last month I’d posted about how I was struggling with keeping organized with my blog. I’d tried printing out a blog plan template out on the web, btu when I dug into it, it really wasn’t what I was looking for.
Well, I wanted to share some things that have been working for me!
1. Editorial Calendar Plugin on WordPress. Until Erin commented about an editorial calendar, I didn’t even know I needed it! But I found this plugin pretty quickly and have been surprised at how well it helps me stay organized!
2. Google Doc. I have been keeping a running Google doc that is divided into 2 parts: Post Ideas & a running list of notes/ideas in general about the blog (including notes taken from a few articles I’ve read or blog-focused meetings). The Post Ideas part is grouped by types of Posts (Triathlon, Running, Misc) and then the other part is just random, slightly organized with my running to-do list toward the top of that section.
So how have I been doing? A whole helluva lot better. I’m not winning any blogger awards yet, but I am feeling more organized. My life is getting a bit busier lately, and these tools have helped me to be more efficient when I am blogging.
