Gosh, today I’ve been trying as hard as I can not to sleep the day away. Jet lag is hard, and I was pretty busy all day yesterday.
Getting proper recovery is important to any athlete, and really anyone, and for a busy person like me, getting maximum quality sleep is important! Sleepy’s, a mattress & sleep store that recently entered the Chicago area, sent me a sleep pack to help me maximize my sleep quality.
I hadn’t heard of Sleepy’s before, but they’re based out on the East Coast, and have a very comprehensive mission:
“Sleepy’s, the Mattress Professionals, a privately-owned, fourth-generation company approaches 1,000 retail locations in 17 states up and down the east coast. Its expansion into the midwest is a key milestone in its accelerated growth trajectory. Sleepy’s is committed to making the world a better place to sleep while bringing an economic boost and job creation to every market it enters.”
Sleepy’s sent me a chilling pillow pad, a travel neck pillow & a spa gift set to try out. I used the travel neck pillow on my recent Hawaii trip, and it did a great job helping the backaches that sometimes crop up during a 12 hour flight. Tip: Use the pillow to support your lower back. Many planes now have neck support built into the headrest. I find pretty much all neck pillows on a plane to do a better job supporting my low back than the neck, and this one was one of the softest!
The chilling pillow pad is also a great addition. If you ever get hot like me (Mike calls me “temperature-challenged”), this is a great thing! I have fallen asleep, and stayed asleep so much more quickly. I like to sleep with my blankets pulled up to my chin, and the chilling pad allows me to sleep more soundly than I might otherwise feel. The only downside is that it doesn’t fit quite as well over my contoured memory foam pillow, so I’ve been using it on my backup normal pillow.
I also received a spa gift set that has some of the most relaxing scents I’ve ever tried… apricot chamomile. Between the bath bubbles, lotion & linen spray, I’m getting ready for bed much more relaxed and there are no funny “is that coconut?” comments from Mike.
Check out Sleepy’s and enter to win the prize pack!
