March has definitely come “in like a lion,” so let’s hope it ends “like a lamb!” It’s snowing again in Chicago today, and supposedly we’re getting 5 inches. I don’t believe it, we had another fake snowstorm last week. How was your February, and what are you hoping for in your March goals?
So, how’d I do in February?!
For 2016, I set five focus areas to pay attention to growing in each month. Looking back at February, here’s how I did on my 2016 focal areas. I wrote about my February goals at the beginning of the month, so let’s check in on how I did!
February’s Goal: Keep at the 20 mile per week running average, and complete all scheduled strength workouts. Run a strong race at the Phoenix Half Marathon at the end of the month.
How I did: I got in 81 miles running for the month! I did all of my strength workouts, although I modified them based on certain calamities that arose- shoulder issues, and also a nasty spill on ice. I haven’t posted yet about Phoenix, but, spoiler alert, I’m happy with my performance!
February’s Goal: Continue to track food in MyFitnessPal, and stick to just one “cheat day” per week.
How I did: I tracked consistently 5 days per week. I struggle with getting food tracked on the weekends if I’m eating out a lot. I tried to keep to the one “cheat day” most weeks, but I also fell off the wagon on that toward the end of the month.
February’s Goal: Plan two intentional treats during February.
How I did: I got one pedicure this month. Not enough to feel like I’m fulfilling my “pampering” goal, and maybe why it’s feeling hard to stay on track with healthier eating.
February’s Goal: Find one event or activity that I’ve never done before or I wouldn’t normally do to participate in.
How I did: I don’t think I did anything for this. Nothing that counts at least.
February’s Goal: Keep reading! Personal books, and read at least two articles to help support my coaching education.
How I did: I read at least two books, and am in the middle of three more. While I did not track coaching articles, I did read several items that came across my desk (or email inbox!). Books I read this past month:
Move: Keep up the 20 mile per week running average! Get back into a more triathlon-looking training schedule, and sign up for one triathlon.
Nourish: Continue to track food in MyFitnessPal, and stick to just one “cheat day” per week.
Treat: Get two manicures!
Explore: Find one event or activity that I’ve never done before, and schedule it!
Learn: Keep reading! Personal books, and share one post on a coaching-related topic here on the blog.
What are you prioritizing for March?
