- I got into the Marine Corps Marathon! So excited to run in my hometown (almost, Silver Spring, holla!) I’m excited to see what I’m capable of with a solid marathon training season coming up!
- Speaking of Washington DC, I was home this past weekend for Easter and had a lot of fun visiting my family and also seeing some new-to-me sights! Mom & I visited the Renwick Gallery
The exhibits at the Renwick Gallery are really cool right now. Yes, those are bugs– on a wall. If you’re in or visiting DC, check it out before May/June when most of the exhibits come down. It took us about an hour to walk through all the galleries.
- The Shamrock Shuffle is this weekend! I’ve run this race for ___ years straight (Read my recaps: 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010) I’d like to PR at this event. If I can shave off two minutes, then I can get a time that says I’m on track for my 2 hour half marathon goal. I need to run about an 8:39 pace. In 2015 I stopped during mile 3 when the going got tough, and ended up 90 seconds off of my PR time. In 2014 that same mile 3 was my tough spot. So I am going to focus on staying strong through mile 3. “You can do anything for 18 minutes” — or hopefully 17! I’m looking for this PR!
I’m linking up with Amanda from Running with Spoons for Thinking Out Loud Thursday. Join in on the fun!
Happy Thursday! Who else is running the Shuffle? Good luck!
